After completing a technical degree in Culinary Arts, I began working at various high-end restaurants and events, such as Muhammad Ali’s 70th birthday party, and have worked alongside known celebrity chefs such as Beau Macmillan, Mark Tarbell, and many others. Once I became pregnant with my son, I knew my career in the restaurant field would have to come to a halt, so I started my own business as a freelance writer and recipe developer.

After I gave birth, I became fascinated in health and fitness, and was determined to get into even better shape than I was before I was pregnant. I wanted to prove that even after having a kid, you can still be sexy! I had a friend keep bugging me about getting into modeling, so I gave in and went to an open call for a local talent agency. After being told that I was too fat, my hair was too flat, and my smile was too big, they signed me! I was so excited until I received an email saying I owed them over $1,000… I was crushed but didn’t give up. I went to every open call I could find and was offered a signing deal by the first few I went to, but they didn’t come cheap. After many scams and even more doors slammed in my face, I decided to take matters into my own hands and become a freelance model. I found my own jobs, dealt with some pretty sketchy people, but eventually got signed with an amazing agency, and here I am! (Probably because they were tired of me sending in applications for the eighth time!)

I love being in front of the camera, but I really missed cooking. I kept having people tell me that I should start a food blog, so after years of peer pressure, I gave in… (Geez, I never knew how easily I gave in to peer pressure until I wrote this!)

I’m not a photographer and I don’t have a degree in writing. I actually don’t really have a degree at all… But I make damn good food and I hope I can make you laugh along the way. I want to share with you all of my food and health tips, tricks, and restaurant secrets that I’ve learned from culinary school, working in restaurants, and having to maintain a healthy lifestyle as a model (plus I’m a mom, and moms know everything… right?). So whether you’re looking to grill the best steak, make a meal your picky toddler will approve of, or find out what I eat to stay healthy, you’ve come to the right place!
